Pan-European Breast Image Platform for Advanced AI-based Breast Cancer Screening

Pan-European Breast Image Platform for Advanced AI-based Breast Cancer Screening

The BreastSCan project is creating one of Europe's largest and most diverse breast cancer imaging datasets, with over one million images from nine countries. This massive resource, which includes mammograms, ultrasound, and MRI scans, directly contributes to the European Cancer Imaging Initiative by making the data available through Cancer Image Europe.

By establishing common standards and a secure technical infrastructure, BreastSCan will enable the development and testing of advanced AI tools to make breast cancer detection faster, more accurate, and more personalized, ultimately improving patient outcomes across Europe.

The project brings together 20 leading partners from across European Union to build the future of cancer screening.

BreastSCan is co-funded under the EU4Health Programme 2021–2027 under grant agreement no. 101219312. Funded by the European Union.
